Earthing Electrode

Earthing is the process of creating an alternating path for the flow of fault or excessive current safely into the ground.

Earthing electrodes are made up of specific class hot dip galvanized iron pipe. The construction of electrodes done such a way that current will get passed through it to earth. The cavity between outer pipe and inner pipe is filled with highly conductive and non-corrosive compound. This type of earthing arrangement requires no maintenance so called as “Maintenance free earthing.”

It is made from low carbon steel and high tensile strength cores. The layer of copper is coated on outer surface of pipe through an electrolysis process, which ensures a perfect and strong bonding between low carbon steel pipe and copper. Copper Bonded Electrodes are highly conductive due to copper layer on outer surface. Upto 250 Microns copper coating on electrode. Continuous electroplating over the electrode results good conductivity at outer surface. Due to copper coating they have longer life and cost is effective.
